Brief Synopsis: After his retirement from the Surete, former Chief of Homicide Gamache has many offers to consider. From among them all, he decides to accept the position of Commander of the Surete training academy in an attempt to root out the corruption there and put the Surete motto of “service, integrity, justice” back into the heart of learning. Of course there is a mystery or two to solve with a body, an old map and new characters to meet but as ever Gamache requires the help of the quirky inhabitants of Three Pines. Louise Penny does more than just tell an absorbing tale full of twists and turns; she makes us think about who we are and what is really important in life.<\/p>\n

Alan Bradley<\/b> is the creator of the Flavia de Luce mystery series. He is a writer of craft and wordplay and whose inspiration he tells us in his appreciation comes from Louise Penny herself – \u201cgodmother to Flavia de Luce\u201d. His piece is both perceptive and amusing; we a left in no doubt that Louise Penny is that the forefront of the mystery writers at this time.<\/p>\n
