Reichs has produced ten novels in the Tempe Brennan series and the character has become the basis for a television series. The series received much praise from writers and critics, including a full page feature in Barry Forshaw’s The Rough Guide to Crime Fiction.

Sharp collectible first book with early dated signature of what is undoubtedly a major crime series. Crime editor Selina Walker remarked that this book was an influential landmark in modern crime fiction (Radio 4, Woman’s Hour, 9/8/2012).
